2007 Rally

RALLY in the STADIUM!

The thunderous roar of engines was a welcome sound in Olean Sunday as thousands of people - and their bikes - filled Bradner Stadium for the fifth annual Rally in the Valley.  The Rally in the Valley welcomed more than 682 dice run participants (525 bikes) for Sunday’s event.  The three-day event, hosted by JAYBRAKE, Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce, and the area Motorcycle Enthusiast's is a motorcycle rally with the proceeds from the event benefiting a host of community charities.

Co-Chairs of the Rally, Dan Jordan, Dennis Jones, Randy Langdon, and Larry Penman all agreed, “The weather on Saturday created a record attendance enjoying the games, contests, and music.  Although Sunday’s weather was overcast most of the day we had 682 dice run participants for the dice run, about 30 more than last year.  Holding the event at the stadium was a great idea - attendees could move from place to place and see more of the action, plus the vendors didn’t have to tear down each night.  We appreciate all the assistance that we received from the many volunteers, sponsors, and the City of Olean to make this happen.  The participants, the spectators all had a great time and helped out many local charities with the proceeds.  The festival attracted motorcycle lovers and novices alike to engage in one of Olean's finest summertime offerings: bikes, beers and some of the best free music around.”

The winners of the 120-mile Dice Run were: Kimberly Shelp of Shinglehouse, PA (scored 166 out of a possible 210 points), Judy Mitchell of Bolivar, NY (163), Dan Leonard and Therese Hathaway, both of Bradford, PA (161), Greg Todd of Portville and Therese Maynard of Olean, won and split the award special dice roll of 102, and scoring lowest was Randy Harmon of Bolivar with 84 points.  The winner of the Harley Davidson White Pearl Softail Deuce FXSTD was Tom Heim of East Amherst, NY.
