The City of Olean and the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce have scheduled the second annual Greater Olean Area Outdoor and Recreational Sports Show for September 11, 12, 2010. The Greater Olean Area, Cattaraugus County, New York is an excellent market for an outdoor recreational and sports show. With more than 2 million people living within 100-mile radius in Canada, Pennsylvania and New York region, actively engaged in fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities, this show will once again be located at the William O. Smith Recreation Center, War Veterans Park, and Bradner Stadium.

The City of Olean and the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce deemed last year’s show a huge success with more than 1,200 visitors and 53 vendors. Activities included the 3-D Archery Stadium Shoot by Windfall Archery; the Twin Tiers Striders Club of the Olean Family YMCA CAMO 5k RUN/WALK; Charlie’s Cycle Center Off Road Course and Lake Lane Resort F

ishing Pond; a Companion Retriever Hunting Contest; the Pfeiffer Nature Learning Pavilion; and more.

“This new show provided attendees with a wonderful opportunity to learn about outdoor recreational choices, attend meaningful seminars, search for and purchase recreational equipment and accessories, as well as plan experiences the entire family will enjoy,” stated Randy Langdon, show co-chair.

“For the first-time hosting of a sports show, the committee was pleased with the attendance, and the number of vendors, seminars and competitions. The show attracted all family members and provided a wide variety of recreational experiences -- from hunting and fishing, to ATV riding, skateboarding and rock climbing! Plans are to expand and improve the show -- more vendors, more visitors, more fun! Vendors thought the September show date was ideal -- people are preparing for the upcoming hunting season,” added Craig Southard, show co-chair.
