Cyber Security for Any Size Business
March 21, 2017
Between September and May, the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce will host several Lunch & Learn workshops with speakers who will present on a variety of topics of interest to businesses.

The next workshop will feature Greg Lindberg of the U.S. Small Business Administration who will present on defining cyber security; explaining the importance of securing information through best cyber security practices; identifying types of info that should be secured; identifying the types of cyber threats; defining risk management; and listing best practices for guarding against cyber threats.

The workshop is set for April 6th, Noon to 1 p.m. at the Chamber office, first floor training room.

“Small employers often don’t consider themselves targets for cyberattacks due to their size or the perception that they don't have anything worth stealing. However, small businesses have valuable information cybercriminals seek, including employee and customer data, bank account information and access to the business's finances, and intellectual property. Small employers also provide access to larger networks such as supply chains,” added Mr. Lindberg.

The seminars are held at the Chamber’s office, 301 N. Union St., and are free for members to attend. Non-members must pay a $10 admission fee.  The city has a parking lot off of West Sullivan Street near the Chamber office. For more information or to make a reservation, contact the Chamber by phone at 716-372-4433 or by email, betty@oleanny.com.
