Float the Allegheny: Event Terms and Conditions

By participating in the “Float the Allegheny” event organized by the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce (GOACC), you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Assumption of Risk: Participation in the Float the Allegheny event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to accidents, injury, and property damage. Participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with their participation in the event.

Safety Guidelines: Participants must adhere to all safety guidelines provided by the event organizers, including but not limited to wearing appropriate safety gear, following instructions from event staff, and maintaining situational awareness at all times during the event.

Physical Fitness: Participants must ensure they are physically fit and capable of safely participating in kayaking activities. It is the responsibility of each participant to assess their own physical condition and suitability for participation.

No Lifeguard on Duty: Participants acknowledge that there will be no lifeguard on duty during the event. Each participant is responsible for their own safety and well-being while participating in the Float the Allegheny event.

Limited Transportation: GOACC may, at its discretion, provide limited transportation between the disembarkation point and the Afterparty venue. Participants acknowledge that such transportation is provided as a courtesy and agree to use it at their own risk.

Afterparty Attendance: Participation in the Afterparty at Randy’s Up the River is optional. Participants attending the Afterparty do so at their own discretion and assume all risks associated with attending the event.

Indemnification: Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from or related to their participation in the Float the Allegheny event, including but not limited to accidents, injury, or property damage.

Photography and Media: By participating in the event, participants grant permission to GOACC and its affiliates to use photographs, videos, or other media recordings taken during the event for promotional purposes without compensation.

Modification of Terms: GOACC reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Participants are responsible for reviewing the most current version of the terms and conditions before participating in the event.

Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

By participating in the Float the Allegheny event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Further, Participants expressly waive any and all claims, known or unknown, against the event organizers, their agents and assigns.
